Frequently Asked Questions

What is permanent makeup?

Makeup that is implanted into the skin by tattooing and lasts for several years. It can be used to enhance your facial features. Eyeliner really brings out the eyes, and the eyebrows form our face. It's great to have brows if you've plucked yours too much or they've diminished as you've aged. Lip liner is good to define the lips, and full lip color is great if you don't have much color to your lips or would like to add more color to your existing lip color.

Does it hurt?

Very minimal. I use a very strong topical anesthetic to numb the area. I keep reapplying anesthetic as I progress. I also have a very gentle touch. I use a hand method on the eyes and eyebrows, which achieves much more natural results than an electrical machine because I have more control and it is less invasive to the skin.

Can I choose a color?

Yes, absolutely. I have a wide variety of colors and can help you pick a color that best suits your skin tone, eye color for eyeliner, and hair color for eyebrows.

Can I choose a shape?

Yes. For all procedures, I draw on a shape that we both agree on. You can draw on your makeup the way you like to wear it before you come in, and then I can give you my professional opinion of what I think would look best. I will let you be the ultimate judge of how you would like it done.

Is it safe?

Yes, it is very safe. The ingredients in the pigment include water, iron oxide, glycerin, and alcohol. Everything but the iron oxide, which is found in most cosmetics to give them their color, washes out in the healing process.

Can I change anything if I'm not satisfied with the results?

Yes, everything can be changed. You are not stuck with what you get the first time. Colors and shapes can be changed.

How long does it last?

It should last several years if you have your touch-up and take care of it properly, which will be explained when you come in.

Is it sanitary?

Yes, I use only disposable needles and other parts that are disposable.

Why do I need a touch-up?

I need to assess the color once it has healed. We can adjust or make any changes then. It is also like a second coat of paint and will last longer if you have a touch-up within a month of the initial procedure.

Can you do correction work?

Yes, I have been trained extensively in this area and can help most people. You must come in for me to analyze it to see if I can help, and it may take more than one visit.

How long is the healing process?

The main healing usually takes 3 days. The top layer usually starts to flake and peel after 3 days and the pigment will appear softer and more natural. During the healing process you can lighten the pigment with face powder or apply a lighter color lipstick on your lips.

Can I wear other makeup on top of my permanent makeup?

Yes, you can still wear different colors of eyeliner and lipstick when you choose to.

Is there a lot of swelling or bruising?

Very minimal because of the method for applying the makeup that I use. You can return to work that day or the next and continue your normal activities.

How soon can I come in for my touch-up?

3 to 4 weeks. This gives the pigment time to settle in the skin and see what the true color will be.

Can I come in and consult before having the procedure done?

Yes, I give a free consultation. You can come watch while I'm performing a procedure you are interested in. We can discuss colors, shapes, and any other questions then.

What are Eyelash Extensions?

They are synthetic, individual eyelashes applied one lash to one extension at a time to lengthen and thicken the lashes.

How long do they last?

They can last up to 2 months, but usually they last around a month range. They start getting sparse about 3 weeks to a month. To maintain them, come back every 3 weeks to a month for a touchup.

How long do they take to apply?

The first session is about 2 1/2 hours. I put at least 60 to 80 lashes per eye. It takes so long because each is individual and the whole lash attaches to the whole extension.

How long do touchups take?

Usually 1 to 2 hours, depending on how long you wait to return for touchup. It is recommended to come every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain them.

Will it damage my own lashes?

No. The extensions naturally fall off as the glue loosens. Sometimes you may lose a lash with the extension when it comes off. This is because that lash was ready to come out anyway, as we are constantly shedding and growing new lashes. The life cycle of a lash is 90 days. You lose a lash after 90 days, but you already have new ones growing in all the time to replace the ones you lose.

Do they come in different lengths and widths?

Yes, I have 3 widths and about 6 or 7 different lengths. I make them look very natural by applying them shorter to longer, with inner lashes by the nose being shorter, to gradually longer on the outer lashes. I can also just do the outer lashes. I customize them to what the client is looking for.

What is an Eyelash Perm?

The perm adds a lift to the eyelash. This is great for ladies who have very straight lashes. It will make the lashes go up so you can see them better and they will be longer. It also opens the eye more. You can also get a perm if you want more of a lift to make them appear longer even if you already have a natural curl to them.

How long does an Eyelash Perm last?

2 to 3 months. About 5 weeks if your lashes are very straight to begin with. They want to fall quicker.

What is Airbruish Tanning?

It is a safe alternative to tan the skin without the harmful rays of the sun or tanning beds.

How does it work?

I spray the tan on with a device that is a patented laser airbrush while you stand and turn to cover your entire body. You can wear a dark colored bathing suit while performing the procedure and loose fitting, dark clothes home.

How long does it last?

5 to 7 days.

Can you come to me to perform the service?

Yes, I am mobile for an extra fee or you can come see me at The Loft.

Is it safe?

Yes, it's organic ingredients, including Vitamins A, C, E and Green Tea. It's also fragrance free. It also will not turn orange or streaky. It looks like a natural tan.

When is a good time to get an airbrush tan?

It's great for vacations and events, weddings, or just anytime you want to have a sun-kissed look! I can also come to you and do tanning parties. You can get a discounted rate for having a tanning party!
